Job description

A growing defense manufacturer is hiring a Program Manager to lead complex defense programs from customer commitment through execution and delivery.

This role is built for someone who has worked inside an OEM or hardware manufacturing environment and understands what it takes to move a real product through engineering, supply chain, production, quality, testing, and delivery.

This is not a role where you simply track actions and report status.

You will own the program: cost, schedule, risk, technical performance, customer expectations, and the cross-functional team responsible for delivering it.

If you have managed programs where hardware actually had to get built, tested, and delivered, this role should get your attention.

What You’ll Own
  • Lead defense programs from planning through execution, production, testing, delivery, and customer support.
  • Own program cost, schedule, milestones, technical performance, risk, and overall execution.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and procurement.
  • Serve as the primary interface with government customers, prime contractors, partners, and internal leadership.
  • Drive supplier and subcontractor performance while resolving issues and keeping programs moving.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience managing DoD contracts and programs.
  • Hands‑on program management experience within a defense, aerospace, or complex hardware OEM/manufacturer.
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and DoD acquisition processes.
  • Proven experience leading Integrated Product or Project Teams (IPTs) across multiple functions.
  • Active PMP certification, U.S. citizenship, and ability to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Background
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, UAS, weapons systems, or other complex hardware environments.
  • Experience supporting programs through development, production, testing, delivery, or fielding.
  • Experience managing suppliers, subcontractors, production constraints, and technical program risk.
  • Experience operating hands‑on in a smaller, fast-moving organization.
  • Strong customer-facing experience with DoD organizations, prime contractors, and senior stakeholders.
Why This Role

This is an opportunity for a program leader who wants ownership, visibility, and the ability to drive execution.

You will work directly with the teams designing, building, sourcing, testing, and delivering the product while maintaining direct visibility with customers and executive leadership.

The environment rewards people who can get into the details, make decisions, solve problems, and keep complex programs moving.
