Job summary

Safran Group in the United States is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead aerospace programs from pre-contract through certification and sustainment phases. You will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to ensure realistic, customer-aligned program plans and robust technical proposals.

The role requires 5-10+ years of PM experience in aerospace or tech, with proven leadership of large, international programs and a background in business development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • MBA or PMI certification preferred.
  • PM/Program management experience in tech or aerospace.
  • 5-10+ years of project or program management experience in the technology sector.
  • Proven ability to lead large and international aerospace programs.
  • Business development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inputs to support the optimal sales strategy and collaborate with Sales.
  • Manage technical proposals and coordinate with Sales, Engineering and Operations.
  • Create and maintain program scope documents and plan resources to meet milestones.
  • Ensure solutions meet customer requirements and identify actions to resolve issues.
  • Manage program costs and maintain the overall business case; mitigate risks.

Job description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. 1. Before contract award
    • Provide all relevant inputs to the organization and collaborate closely with Sales to support the optimal sales strategy and ensure a consistent, harmonized approach to the customer
    • Manage technical proposals internally and externally
    • Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to ensure business case inputs are realistic and accurate
    • Maintain appropriate contact with relevant customer program and technical teams
    • Support the customer in defining and selecting optimal components or systems
  2. 2. After contract award and until aircraft/product certification
    • Create and maintain program scope documents
    • Plan at program-level and manage resources to meet customer milestones
    • Work closely with all company functions to ensure solutions meet all customer requirements and identify paths of action to resolve issues
    • Ensure adherence to organizational processes and use of established tools
    • Manage and control recurring and non-recurring program costs and maintain the overall business case
    • Manage and mitigate program-level risks
  3. 3. After certification
    • Manage sustaining programs in accordance with Safran procedures
    • Ensure smooth entry into service for both the customer and the organization
    • Maintain close contact with the customer to promptly resolve or avoid any emerging issues
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all non-commercial questions between the customer and the organization

Qualifications:
Education
  • Required : Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Preferred : MBA or equivalent
  • Preferred : PMI certification or equivalent
Experience
  • Required : 5-10+ years of project or program management experience in the technology sector
  • Required : Proven ability to successfully lead large and international aerospace programs
  • Preferred : Experience in business development
Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Self-starter who sets priorities and drives deliverables to completion with a high degree of autonomy
  • Strong business analysis skills
  • Program leadership, teams coordination and guidance, issue resolution
