OFFICE OF THE DEAN - MEDICINE (IN-DOSM-IUINA)

The IUSM Office of the Dean provides statewide leadership and administrative support for the school and coordinates institutional priorities and activities involving leaders and partners across IUSM, Indiana University, IU Health, and the broader community.
Working within the Office of Strategy and Enterprise Alignment, the Program Management Specialist coordinates and facilitates strategic planning, performance monitoring, organizational reporting, stakeholder engagement, and external review activities in support of the Indiana University School of Medicine Strategic Plan and shared priorities across the academic health enterprise.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Partners with leaders across Indiana University School of Medicine and IU Health to monitor progress, facilitate reporting, and advance strategic priorities and goals shared across the academic health enterprise.
- Coordinates the monitoring, assessment, and reporting of progress related to the Indiana University School of Medicine Strategic Plan and other institutional strategic priorities.
- Effectively utilizes reporting mechanisms, dashboards, scorecards, presentations, and other tools to communicate strategic performance and outcomes to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Identifies trends, opportunities, risks, and barriers related to strategic initiatives and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Facilitates cross-functional collaboration and engagement among stakeholders to support implementation and achievement of strategic priorities.
- Leads the planning, coordination, and execution of institutional external reviews, including the development of timelines, materials, communications, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Prepares executive briefings, reports, presentations, and other materials that translate complex information into clear and actionable insights.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Manages and administers assigned institutional programs and initiatives that advance organizational capabilities, strategic priorities, and university objectives.
- Develops and implements program plans, resources, communications, and operating procedures to support achievement of program goals and consistent delivery of program services.
- Evaluates program performance using qualitative and quantitative data; identifies trends, risks, and improvement opportunities; and recommends solutions to enhance effectiveness and outcomes.
- Exercises independent judgment in interpreting program guidelines, resolving moderately complex issues, and determining appropriate actions within established program parameters.
- Partners with stakeholders across departments and functional areas to coordinate program activities, align priorities, and support achievement of shared objectives.
- Researches emerging practices, industry trends, and organizational needs and recommends program enhancements, resources, and approaches that strengthen program impact and effectiveness.
- Develops reports, presentations, and recommendations to communicate program progress, risks, and opportunities to leadership and stakeholders.
- Leads or coordinates assigned program initiatives and special efforts, monitoring implementation progress and recommending adjustments to improve results.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. $63,000.00 - $68.000.00 annually dependent on candidate experience and qualifications.
