Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Herndon, VA invites a senior program manager to oversee complex defense programs from inception to completion, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring cost, schedule and technical performance.

The role requires a STEM degree, 15+ years of related experience, CAM/EVM capability, US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance (with potential TS/SCI). Domestic travel up to ~50% is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in a STEM field (e.g., Aerospace, CS, Electrical, Mechanical, Mathematics) required.
• 15+ years of related technical and/or program management experience.
• Cost Account Manager (CAM) and/or Earned Value Management (EVM) experience required.

This Role Will Offer You The Following Daily Challenges

Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Herndon, VA, and be expected to work in the office, as well as needing to travel up to ~50% of the time.

Basic Qualifications

To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• BS in a STEM field (i.e., Aerospace, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, other),
• 15+ years of related technical and/or program management experience,
• Prior experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) and/or Earned Value Management (EVM) experience,
• Demonstrated expereince as a leader of leaders,
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET clearance; with ability to get a TS/SCI /w Poly clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

• Customer directed level of effort (LOE), fixed price and go fast contracts
• Cyber defensive and offensive technical experience and knowledge
• Agile release software development
• Management of subcontractors
• Experience leading a team in a fast paced environment supporting multiple programs,
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and quickly adjust to changing priorities,
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with senior leadership, customers and stakeholders,
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail,
• Proven track record of establishing relationships with customers and other stakeholders.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $180000.00 - $325000.00

• Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
