Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking staff to support a safe, engaging environment for students in Denver, CO. Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with at least three (3) months (455 hours) of full-time or equivalent part-time experience with school-age children.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.
  • Must currently hold certification in or be able to become trained in First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration and Universal Precautions.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all ELCS/Discovery Link, the District, and Colorado Department of Human Services policies, procedures, and regulations related to student supervision, tracking, safety, and staff conduct.
  • Follow Discovery Link staff conduct guidelines, staffing philosophy, and all licensing requirements, including maintaining required staff to child ratios at all times.
  • Supervise students independently and provide active supervision to ensure student safety.
  • Implement daily program schedules, curriculum, and engaging activities, including recreational and movement-based programming.
  • Maintain appropriate student behavior standards consistent with the district Behavior Matrix.
  • Understand and follow accident reporting, incident documentation, and other required recordkeeping procedures, with supervisor support as needed.
  • Prepare, maintain, and restore program spaces before and after use, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and completion of housekeeping duties; review daily schedules, staffing assignments, and supervision expectations.
  • Foster positive relationships with families, school personnel, and Discovery Link staff; provide accurate program information, substitute at program sites as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
