Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; post-secondary education preferred.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant program with certification.
• Trained and demonstrated ability to give immunizations and injections; CPR certification.
• Phlebotomy training preferred.
• Minimum 1 year medical assisting experience; EMR experience.
• Fluency in English and Spanish required.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties of MA I and MA II.
• Front office duties and front desk responsibilities.
• Support Operations Manager in staffing, scheduling, training, coaching at site.
• Orient and train new staff and supervise competencies.
• Oversee daily tasks including inventory, meds, equipment, and safety checks.
• Train and check off MA competencies; quality improvement participation.
• Review lab slips for accurate patient demographics and insurance data for billing.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and meaningful use to improve patient care.
• Attend to safety issues and assist in equipment repairs as needed.
• Meet special program needs and provide health education as directed.
• Outreach activities related to programs, including school health events; coordinate immunization processes.
