Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a finance professional to partner with program management on national defense contracts. You will apply EVMS principles, manage WBS and charge numbers, and produce performance metrics for budget, schedule, and EAC.

The role requires 3-5 years of related experience, knowledge of FAR/CAS/DFARS, and the ability to communicate complex data to all management levels. Proficiency in ERP/Cobra and strong analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Able to use EVMS principles in daily operations.
  • Knowledge of program financial controls with DoD programs.
  • Knowledge of FAR/CAS/DFARS and relevant regs.
  • Knowledge of contract types (FFP, FPIF, CPFF, CPIF, T&M).
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with internal/external customers to support contracts for national defense with financial acumen.
  • Provides timely and accurate metrics on schedule and cost performance using Earned Value or related processes.
  • Supports baseline development activities and development of charge numbers and WBS.
  • Updates program tools (ERP or Cobra) with required changes.
  • Analyzes and reports variances to budget and aids recovery plans.
  • Assesses risks & opportunities to baseline cost, schedule, and EAC.
  • Maintains the Project-Activity Structure (Charge Numbers).
  • Completes EAC process timely with time-phased updates.
  • Develops and monitors program-level time-phased revenue plans for forecast, budget, and 5-year planning.
  • Provides inputs and narrative for PMRs and QBRs.
  • Performs invoicing and collects receivables in a timely manner.
  • Communicates status of program financials including funding status and cancellations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with internal and external customers as the business partner of choice to ensure financial acumen, accuracy, and dedicated support to execute contracts for national defense.
  • Provides timely and accurate metrics on schedule and cost performance utilizing Earned Value or related processes.
  • Supports all baseline development activities and development of charge numbers and WBS as applicable.
  • Provides updates/changes as required for programs in applicable tools (ERP or Cobra).
  • Provides analysis and reports on performance variances to budget and assist with recovery plans as needed.
  • Analyzes and reports risks & opportunities to the baseline cost, schedule, and the EAC.
  • Ensures timely maintenance of the Project-Activity Structure (Charge Numbers).
  • Provides timely completion of the Estimate at Complete (EAC) process, processing time-phased estimate to complete updates.
  • Develops and monitors the program-level time-phased plan to support an overall program-level view of revenue for forecast, budget, and 5-year planning processes.
  • Provides financial data inputs, analysis, and applicable variance narrative for Program Management Reviews (PMRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Timely invoicing and collection of customer receivables.
  • Reviews and communicates the status of program financials, including status on funding and disposition of funding that is subject to cancellation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Able to use EVMS principles in daily operations.
  • Knowledge of program financial controls with DoD programs.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal acquisition regulations and standards such as CAS/FAR/DFARS.
  • Knowledge of different contract types (FFP, FPIF, CPFF, CPIF, T&M).
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting subject matters, including revenue recognition.
  • Ability to present complex information to all levels of management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient with Microsoft software applications.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to multi-task and is detail oriented.
  • Ability to ensure tasks are completed on time and accurate.
