Job summary

Birdon America Inc. seeks a Program Engineer to lead engineering activities across the full program lifecycle for shipyard projects.

This on-site role reports to the Ship Design Director and focuses on coordinating a multidisciplinary team to meet technical, schedule, and cost milestones. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in engineering with eight+ years in shipyard design/construction, including three years in management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• Eight+ years of shipyard design and construction experience.
• Three+ years in a managerial role.

Responsibilities

• Organize engineering team to meet program technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Define, develop, and review schedules, metrics, and management tools to support milestones.
• Monitor system integration, cost and risks, and supportability of ship design.
• Ensure the technical work scope, schedule, and budget are defined and maintained.
• Provide engineering team leadership to overcome technical challenges.
• Work with leadership to allocate resources to milestones and deliverables.
• Lead subcontract management for design execution across major subs.
• Manage design configuration and engineering changes.
• Support development of Engineering Change Proposals.
• Maintain technical relationships with customer and program office.
