The YMCA of Greater Seattle seeks a Director of Youth Development and Family Programs to lead youth sports, recreation, and teen initiatives. You will guide a team of professionals, create developmentally appropriate activities, and ensure strong staff training and volunteer support.
You will drive safe, high-quality programs, maintain staffing ratios, and build partnerships with families and the community. This role requires flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.

Directs and oversees youth development and family programs, which includes, but is not limited to youth sports and wellness, recreation and enrichment, Kids Club/Kids Zone, family activities, and teen programs. This position will lead and develop a dynamic team of youth development professionals, playing a key role in ensuring planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans are provided to participants. You will lead a safe, high-quality youth and family department and supervise and evaluate staff and volunteers, including hiring and training, maintaining required staff/child ratios and conducting regular staff meetings. This role plays an important part of helping maintain professional relationships with families, facility personnel, and the community.
Hiring range: $80,168.40 - $82,900.00/annually DOE
This job operates in various environments ranging from a professional office, as well as other branch-based and external environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days vary by program schedule. Frequent weekend and evening hours will be required as job duties dictate.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
All employees and volunteers are responsible for adhering to abuse prevention policies, maintaining appropriate boundaries, completing required training, reporting suspicious or inappropriate behavior, and complying with mandated reporting requirements.
Responsible for ensuring staff are properly screened, trained, supervised and held accountable to the organization’s abuse risk management standards.

This role transports clients as an "authorized driver" for the YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS) using your own vehicle (proof of current auto insurance and vehicle registration are required). Driving duties for this role are Required.* Driving roles are safety-sensitive. To become an authorized driver, you must be 21+, have possessed a driver's license for at least 3 years, and pass a drug screen that will test for impairing substances (including marijuana) in addition to meeting the driving record standards below.
Within the last three (3) years: No more than two (2) vehicle related suspension(s) and/or reinstatement(s). No more than two (2) moving violations and/or accidents. Moving violations include, but are not limited to, the following:
Within the last five (5) years: No Major Violations which include, but are not limited to, the following: DUI, DWI, OUI, OWI, BUI (Boating), Administrative Per Se, or Refusing to Test
