Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, administer, and evaluate all clinical education experiences.
  • Develop and strengthen partnerships with clinical affiliates and healthcare organizations.
  • Conduct clinical site visits and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of clinical learning environments.
  • Monitor student performance and progression in clinical placements and provide guidance, support, and remediation as needed.
  • Teach assigned didactic, laboratory, and/or clinical courses in the Sonography curriculum.
  • Collaborate with program faculty to develop, revise, and assess curriculum to ensure alignment with accreditation requirements, industry standards, and workforce needs.
  • Assist with student recruitment, admissions, orientation, academic advising, retention, and graduation initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to clinical education, student competencies, and program outcomes.
  • Support ongoing assessment, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Participate in accreditation activities, including data collection, reporting, self-study preparation, and compliance with CAAHEP/JRC-DMS standards.
  • Contribute to scholarly activities, evidence-based practice initiatives, applied research, and professional service activities consistent with university expectations.
  • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees and participate in community and professional outreach activities.
  • Collaborate with faculty, clinical preceptors, and healthcare partners to ensure students develop the clinical competencies necessary for professional practice.

Job description

Essential Functions:
  • Coordinate, administer, and evaluate all clinical education experiences within the Sonography Program.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with clinical affiliates and healthcare organizations.
  • Conduct clinical site visits and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of clinical learning environments.
  • Monitor student performance and progression in clinical placements and provide guidance, support, and remediation as needed.
  • Teach assigned didactic, laboratory, and/or clinical courses in the Sonography curriculum (Fall, Spring, Summer).
  • Collaborate with program faculty to develop, revise, and assess curriculum to ensure alignment with accreditation requirements, industry standards, and workforce needs.
  • Assist with student recruitment, admissions, orientation, academic advising, retention, and graduation initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to clinical education, student competencies, and program outcomes.
  • Support ongoing assessment, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Participate in accreditation activities, including data collection, reporting, self-study preparation, and compliance with CAAHEP/JRC-DMS standards.

Additional Position Information:
  • Education: Requires a relevant Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Licenses/Certifications/Requirements: Current American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDMS credential in Abdominal Sonography certification.
  • Licenses/Certifications/Requirements: Valid Driver's License.
  • Experience: Requires a minimum of 2 years teaching experience and additional ARDMS credentials in other areas such as Obstetrics and Gynecology and Vascular Technology.
  • Program Director experience required.
  • Experience providing academic advising to undergraduate students required.
  • Experience with accreditation policies and procedures and participation in activities that support programmatic and/or facility accreditation required.
  • Teaching experience using an online/distance learning format required and using course management software (i.e., Brightspace, Blackboard, etc.) required.
  • Experience with course development and assessment required.
  • Experience undertaking evidence-based practice (and/or applied research) initiatives required.
