Job summary

Goddard Riverside Community Center in New York seeks a Program Director to oversee the Restgate Hotel integrated support site in Queens/Manhattan. You will supervise the program staff, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure contract compliance while maintaining 24/7 on-call readiness.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in human services, 2 years supervisory experience, bilingual English/Spanish, and trauma-informed, culturally sensitive service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field with 2 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required.
  • Experience working in residential settings
  • Knowledgeable on immigration laws, procedures, and benefits/entitlements, with the ability to stay up to date with changing procedures.
  • Strong understanding of trauma and how it manifests, as well as experience delivering trauma-informed, culturally sensitive services.
  • F-80 Certification required within 90 days of hire.

  • Oversee the coordination of referrals within the community such as medical, mental health, ESOL, job training and legal assistance.

Job Location: Restgate Hotel - Long Island City, NY 11101

Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 Salary/year

Intro/ Program Description: The Restgate Hotel is an Integrated Support Hotel Program transitional site located in Long Island City, Queens. This site will be a place where families with children can feel safe, receive resources and supportive services, while becoming acclimated to, and part of, the community.

Purpose of Position:

Provide oversight, direction, support and supervision to the team at emergency capacity transitional site in Manhattan. This site has 25 units for families. The Program Director is responsible for overall program quality and performance.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on call

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $95,000

Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

Roles, Responsibilities and Essential Duties
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of the program.
  • Provide direct and consistent supervision to Assistant Program Director, Administrative Assistant, and Case Management team.
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, supervise, and evaluate staff regularly and consistently.
  • Provide supervision to staff; promote staff development, evaluate their work and initiate performance improvement plans when required.
  • Support evidence-based practice models including person centered planning, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, culturally sensitive, and strengths-based approach.
  • Establish and cultivate professional and positive relationships with residents.
  • Oversee the coordination of referrals within the community such as medical, mental health, ESOL, job training and legal assistance.
  • Stay informed on all contract requirements, ensure compliance, and assist in completion of documentation/funder reporting
  • Ensure documentation including incident reporting is completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed for residents.
  • Plan and troubleshoot with facilities and security staff.
  • Coordinate and monitor maintenance work orders to ensure hotel management completes required tasks
  • Meeting with operations and security staff for planning and site management.
  • Oversee rosters and attendance is updated in real time.
  • Lead team meetings, and weekly communications and updates
  • Attend agency Department Head meetings & trainings
  • Ensure quality and integrity of services and program.
  • On-call responsibilities and shift coverage for 24/7 operation.
  • Other duties as needed.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
