Description
Directs an ongoing university program to ensure that prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with its mission and/or specified objectives. Prepares short- and long-term goals and objectives.
- Plans, develops and administers methods, strategies and procedures for meeting program objectives; directs and oversees the daily activities of staff members.
- Prepares and monitors the annual budget and ensures that expenditures are within budget allocation.
- Directs and coordinates personally, or through subordinate personnel, activities concerned with carrying out the objectives of the program.
- Directs the preparation of and reviews reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objectives; modifies or changes methodology as required to redirect activities and attains objectives.
- Analyzes trends within program areas, maintaining expert awareness of program information and change needs.
- Formulates, implements, and maintains appropriate policies and procedures concerning program administration.
- Manages and administers grant for program, including meetings, communication coordination, scholarships and other operations.
- May prepare or participate in the preparation of proposals to obtain grants from state and federal agencies, and private foundation sponsors.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Program Director – Research & Clinical Research Liaison (Navigator/RPL) Summary
The Resources and Services Core of CTPH, based in the UH College of Pharmacy, is currently seeking a Combined Research (Navigator) / Clinical Research (Research Program Liaison, RPL) Associate. The Navigator and RPL will work with investigators from the Consortium for Translational and Precision Health (CTPH), a partnership between Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and the University of Houston (UH), to support clinical and translational science studies.
This position offers an opportunity to work with a high-functioning, cutting-edge team that studies, understands, and improves translational science. The Navigator/RPL at UH will partner with the Navigator and RPL at BCM to ensure alignment and efficiency.
This role requires clinical trial and regulatory experience, including working with IRBs, master/standard agreements, and various grant mechanisms and funding agencies. Autonomy, creativity, and critical thinking skills are strongly encouraged and welcomed.
This is a grant-funded position supporting CTPH. Continuation of the role is dependent on grant funding availability.

Additional Job Duties
- Serve as a liaison between investigators and CTPH resources, providing tailored support for research project implementation.
- Advise and assist research teams with clinical trial design, regulatory processes, and compliance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
- Support investigators in navigating IRB submissions, funding mechanisms, and master/standard agreements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance research efficiency and collaboration across institutions.
- Maintain databases, track performance metrics, and analyze research trends to support program growth.
- Assist with research dissemination strategies, including patient-friendly study brochures and recruitment materials.
- Facilitate communication between CTPH leadership, investigators, study coordinators, and community stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of content and programming for CTPH initiatives.
Priority will be given to applicants who meet the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Basic Science or a related field.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience, typically as a Clinical Research Assistant, Research Technician, or Postdoctoral Fellow/Associate.
- Experience with local and/or single IRB policies and submissions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Experience with REDCap system.
- Proficiency with SharePoint and collaborative/co-authoring tools.
- Knowledge and compliance with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience:
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
