The Program Director for Medical Assisting/Healthcare Program Coordinator will provide leadership in coordination and delivery of healthcare programs for the Center for Workforce Development. Instruction and oversite of CCM’s Medical Assisting program is the primary responsibility. The individual will have instructional responsibilities within the program and ensure program effectiveness through outcomes assessment, organization, administration, planning, and development. They will have a broad understanding of program and accreditation requirements, particularly those of the Medical Assisting Review Board (MAERB) and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. The individual will understand the college mission and work in conjunction with college credit faculty and staff to ensure appropriate delivery of programs and services. The Program Director will assist in managing facility usage and instructional supply orders. The individual will coordinate with Workforce Development healthcare instructors to deliver high quality programs leading to job placement in the field of study.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and deliver curriculum for the noncredit medical assistant program. Ensure the program includes multiple delivery methods, with traditional and hybrid course delivery. In addition, a significant part of the program is lab-based. Align curriculum with accreditor requirements, industry credentials, and federal financial aid requirements. Provide instruction for applicable non-credit healthcare programming.
  • Coordinate noncredit healthcare programs, including facility usage, in cooperation with Workforce Development administration and college credit programs. Supervise hiring additional instructors as needed. Oversee purchase of materials and equipment for noncredit healthcare programs. Maintain and achieve revenue targets while meeting the needs of regional employers.
  • Ensure noncredit healthcare programs remains in compliance with accreditor requirements as applicable. Assess program outcomes to maintain highest level of instruction.
  • Coordinate with applicable college departments to assist students in job readiness development, mock interviews, and placement opportunities.

A minimum 3-years of experience in the profession of medical assisting. Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Assisting credit curriculum and industry-valued credentials. Preferred: 5 years of industry experience with 2-years of teaching experience in curriculum development.

A Bachelor’s degree required. Documentation of training in medical or allied health and training in instructional methodology. Active certification in Medical Assisting (CMA, RMA, NCMA, NCCT, CCMA, or CMAC) required. Preferred: Degree in medical-related field.
