Job summary

Rainier Climate is seeking a Program Director, Buildings, to lead a globally informed strategy accelerating emissions reductions in the built environment. You will work with the President and co-founders to advance grantmaking across policy, market transformation, and on-the-ground implementation.

The role requires senior leadership, deep climate decarbonization knowledge, and the ability to convene stakeholders across government, nonprofit, and corporate sectors to scale solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of senior experience designing and executing high-impact climate decarbonization strategies, with buildings sector preferred.
• Experience working across government, NGO, and philanthropic sectors to advance climate goals.
• Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills for internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of a grants strategy in building decarbonization.
• Communicate program vision and strategy; represent Rainier Climate to external audiences.
• Identify partners, experts, and funders to advance program goals and coordinate collaborations.
• Develop, manage, and monitor program budgets and resources; ensure legal compliance and impact.
• Contribute to learning and assessment across the portfolio to improve grant outcomes.
