Position Summary:

The Program Director, a faculty member (rank based on experience), also holds an administrative role managing the program(s). Responsibilities include classroom instruction, program operations, student support, and staffing. The Director shares accountability with the Campus Director and Dean for the program’s fiscal health, enrollment, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform instructional duties as outlined in the Faculty job description and Employee Handbook.
  • Develop and oversee the Program Advisory Council.
  • Participate in faculty development annually.
  • Manage faculty recruitment, training, and development according to university policies.
  • Administer and expand the Anesthesiologist Assistant program, including curriculum, student advisement, and community relations.
  • Support efforts to achieve student completion rates per strategic plans.
  • Coordinate with other academic program directors and departments.
  • Report significant program changes and accreditation status updates.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation standards and policies.
  • Manage program-related submissions, reports, and accreditation activities.
  • Supervise faculty and staff supporting the program.
  • Maintain effective didactic and clinical education processes, ensuring standards and continuous improvement.
  • Provide ongoing educational guidance aligned with clinical and classroom components.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Position Requirements:

  • At least two years of successful full-time university teaching and management experience.
  • Certification as an Anesthesiologist Assistant by NCCAA or successor.
  • Graduate degree in education, administration, medicine, or medical sciences.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with administrative software and office applications.

Work Environment:

Travel may be required for conferences and meetings. The role involves talking, standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements include focus adjustment.
