Position Summary:

The Program Director is a faculty member (rank based on experience) with administrative responsibilities for managing specific programs. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, program operations, student success support, and staffing. The role collaborates with the Campus Director and Dean of Academic Affairs to ensure the program's fiscal health and enrollment growth.

Key Job Elements:

  1. Perform instructional duties as per faculty guidelines and Employee Handbook.
  2. Develop and oversee the Program Advisory Council (PAC).
  3. Participate in faculty development annually.
  4. Manage faculty recruitment, training, and development according to university policies.
  5. Administer and develop the Anesthesiologist Assistant program, including curriculum, student advisement, and community relations.
  6. Support strategies to improve student completion rates.
  7. Coordinate with other program directors and departments regarding scheduling, faculty sharing, and curriculum.
  8. Report substantive changes, accreditation status, and compliance issues.
  9. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and accreditation standards and policies.
  10. Manage program-specific fees, graduation reports, exam performance, and employment data.
  11. Maintain accreditation compliance within specified timeframes.
  12. In the absence of a Department Chair, co-responsible for accreditation activities with the Dean.
  13. Supervise faculty and staff supporting the program.
  14. Organize and review educational processes to ensure effectiveness.
  15. Maintain regular contact with all educational stakeholders.
  16. Ensure clinical and didactic guidance meet professional standards and educational needs.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Position Requirements:

  • At least two years of university-level teaching and management experience.
  • Certified as an Anesthesiologist Assistant by NCCAA or successor.
  • Graduate degree in education, administration, medicine, or basic sciences.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in administrative software and office applications.

Work Environment:

Some travel required for conferences and meetings, with accommodations for disabilities. The role involves talking, standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Visual focus and close vision are necessary.
