The Virginia Health Care Foundation (VHCF) is a public/private partnership initiated by the General Assembly and its Joint Commission on Health Care. Its mission is to increase access to primary health care for uninsured and medically underserved Virginians. A little bit about the role!
VHCF is seeking a Program and Data Coordinator to support the Foundation's two behavioral health workforce programs, Boost! and our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Scholarship, as well as data-driven projects across the Foundation. Under the direction of VHCF's Senior Manager, Workforce Development Programs, the coordinator will assist with day-to-day operations to grow Virginia's licensed behavioral health workforce and increase access to needed behavioral health care across the Commonwealth.
Program Coordination & Participant Engagement
- Serving as a primary point of contact for program participants, with a genuine desire to communicate directly with enrollees and supervisors to help ensure their success in the program.
- Facilitating engagement of participants across program lifecycles, including outreach, enrollment, active participation, and service commitments to help individuals successfully navigate pathways to licensure.
- Supporting marketing efforts to promote programs across the Commonwealth and meet enrollment targets.
- Facilitating program enrollment activities, ensuring smooth onboarding for participants and supervisors.
- Monitoring and responding to program inquiries in a timely fashion, and escalating messages to the Senior Manager, Workforce Development Programs, as needed.
- Drafting program-related communications to participants and other stakeholders.
Database Management and Reporting
- Managing, updating, and maintaining program databases, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and completeness.
- Playing a lead role in the Foundation's transition to a new CRM platform, including helping to build out the new system, migrate existing data, and stay involved on an ongoing basis as the platform evolves.
- Completing program financial reporting to facilitate scholarship and supervisor payments.
- Creating program dashboards and other visuals that capture key metrics, analyze trends, and forecast data to monitor participant progress and identify opportunities for proactive support or intervention.
- Performing data quality checks to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Supporting Foundation-wide data-driven projects and research initiatives, such as the Profile of Virginia's Uninsured and Assessment of the Capacity of Virginia’s Licensed Behavioral Health Workforce, that use statewide data to inform key partners and stakeholders.
Other Administrative Responsibilities
- Working with Fund Development and Operations staff to prepare funding proposals, social media content, and other reports.
- Participating in Workforce Development Team meetings, VHCF staff meetings, and related activities.
- Participating in and providing support for VHCF special initiatives and events.
We are excited about you because you…
- Have 3-5 years of experience in data management, program coordination/support, preferably within a healthcare, human services, or nonprofit setting.
- Have a bachelor's or master's degree. A focus in public health, public policy, health administration, health informatics, or social work is preferred.
- Are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong, hands‑on Excel skills for data management and analysis, comfortable working within complex databases with hundreds of dynamic variables.
- Have strong data analytical skills, with the ability to derive actionable insights from large datasets.
- Have experience in creating dashboards, reports, and custom visualizations to communicate key metrics and trends.
- Have experience with, or strong interest in learning, CRM platforms.
- Have strong organizational skills & outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Enjoy the human elements of collaboration: building trust and rapport, helping individuals navigate complex situations, and developing strong working relationships with participants, supervisors, and colleagues over time.
