The Project Coordinator (PC) supports the Program Director/Program Manager by
performing administrative duties related to planning, directing, and coordinating both
the academic and operational activities of the Public Health Sciences Institute ( PHSI )
Programs. These programs include the Lewis Scholars Imhotep ( LSI ) Project, Innovation
- Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (iSTEM), and other programs that
support the Institute. Coordinating and monitoring activities and providing
information, recommendations and/or direction as requested by team lead.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or higher degree, one to two years of experience in an office
environment. Dependable, team player, and demonstrates discretion, take
initiative, good judgement and have positive customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting academic, public health, or student success programs, particularly with diverse or underrepresented student populations.
- Coursework, training, or demonstrated exposure to public health, health sciences, or related fields.
- Familiarity with data tracking, reporting, and program evaluation tools (e.g., Excel, survey platforms, or database systems).
- Experience with program coordination, event planning, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with digital communications, outreach, or program promotion is a plus.
Preferred Education/Experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills in engaging with students, faculty, mentors, and external partners. Proficient in digital communication platforms, professional email etiquette, and collaborative tools. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), data management systems, and web-based platforms (e.g., Formstack, CRM /database systems). Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment where urgent tasks may arise.
- Utilizes technology to support program operations, including data collection, tracking, and reporting aligned with public health program evaluation and outcomes. Familiarity with survey tools, data analytics, and student information systems to support evidence-based decision-making and continuous program improvement.
- Builds and maintains strategic relationships and networks across academic, community, and public health sectors to support program visibility, student opportunities, and pipeline development. Stays informed of emerging trends in public health, workforce development, and educational programming.
- Willingness to travel, as needed, to support program initiatives, conferences, workshops, and partnership development opportunities.
Physical Demands
- Provide coordination and operational support for day-to-day program and project activities, ensuring alignment with program goals, timelines, and strategic priorities.
- Serve as a primary liaison for students, supporting engagement, success, and retention by clearly communicating program expectations, policies, and available resources.
- Develop and manage program communications and documentation (e.g., correspondence, schedules, applications, reports) in alignment with institutional standards and compliance requirements.
- Maintain and manage digital and electronic records, ensuring accuracy, organization, and accessibility of program materials and data.
- Track program progress and support the achievement of short- and long-term goals by monitoring timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.
- Collaborate in meetings, workshops, and trainings to support program implementation, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Coordinate the collection, management, and basic analysis of program data to support reporting, evaluation, and evidence-based decision-making.
- Maintain and update databases and student tracking systems, including participant records, recruitment data, and alumni outcomes.
- Compile and synthesize data from multiple sources (e.g., surveys, applications, reports, and tracking systems) to support program assessment and reporting needs.
- Support the implementation and ongoing monitoring of programs to ensure alignment with intended outcomes and performance measures.
- Assist in the development and execution of program goals, policies, and operational procedures under the guidance of program leadership.
- Support outreach, recruitment, and program visibility efforts through digital communications, marketing materials, and content development across multiple platforms.
