The University of Texas at San Antonio is seeking a Program Coordinator - Limited Submissions to join Strategic Research Initiatives. The role coordinates the operation of programs on campus, exercising independent judgment to ensure goals are met and budgets are observed, serving as a liaison among teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities include overseeing program phases, evaluating initiatives, researching grant opportunities, and producing progress reports for sponsors and university

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five (5) years of related work experience.
  • Must be able to meet UT San Antonio security and infrastructure requirements per EO-GA-48.

  • Creates reports reflecting progress and assists internal controls.

Salary Range

Up to $51,300/Annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary

The Program Coordinator coordinates the operation of programs or projects, exercising independent judgment and authority as required. This position ensures programs run efficiently, meet goals, and stay within budget. This role serves as the liaison between teams and stakeholders to achieve success and growth.

Core Responsibilities
  • Manages the assigned phases of programs, which may include budget decisions, program selection, staff supervision, future planning, and innovation.
  • Proposes, evaluates, and coordinates the implementation of programs.
  • Researches new program ideas, and proposes program design, which may include grant development and submission.
  • Maintains working knowledge on federal, foundation, and other private funding opportunities.
  • Ensures program needs are met through resource planning, tracking, and management. Resources include talent, supplies, and facilities.
  • Coordinates marketing and communication activities for the program.
  • Evaluates program activities and makes recommendations for changes and enhancements to ensure the program evolves as necessary to continue to serve the mission.
  • Maintains tracking and reporting systems to monitor program/participant progress and results utilizing Info-Ready features as well as internal database tracking mechanism.
  • Provides data and progress/status reporting as necessary for program sponsors and other university personnel.
  • Creates reports to reflect program progress and assists in the creation and maintenance of internal controls.
  • Interacts with university departments, special groups, and external agencies to coordinate resources and communicate/market programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, Vocational Training, or Apprenticeship in a related field.
  • Five (5) years of related work experience.
  • This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Working Conditions
  • Office environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events. Workdays, areas, and work hours may vary depending on the department's needs.
Physical Demands
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary; if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility.
