The Department of Surgery, Office of Chair has an open Program Coordinator II position.

Under minimal supervision, coordinates administrative, personnel and logistical support for a defined department program (s), often of a large and/or complex nature.

General Responsibilities
  • Carries out established program objectives and directives.
  • Follows established guidelines or protocols.
  • Determines the best approach to accomplish assignments.
  • May participate in program planning and in setting program objectives.
  • May supervise support staff.
  • May act as a communication liaison and special events planner.
  • Interfaces with outside resources such as volunteers, alumni, patients, other professionals in a defined field or with continuing education students.
  • May be responsible for adherence to program budget and/or other fiscal duties.
  • May assist with grant and contract preparation and submission.
  • May handle data management.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Additional Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all department social activities and event planning, which includes interacting with external vendors to identify, arrange, and schedule the department activities and meetings.
  • Meeting with vendors to identify needs for planned activities and events.
  • Working within the division and department to coordinate and confirm set-ups and take-down following department activities.
  • In addition to department social activities, the position will also be responsible for assisting with onboarding International Visiting Scholars for the department.
  • This includes working with Human Resources and International Office to ensure all required information is available in advance of scholar reporting for work.
  • The position will assist the department recruiters with onboarding the visiting scholars after they are identified and ready to report for work.
Preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word)
  • Good data management skills (i.e. dataset creation and data extraction) along with excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills

Hourly Range: $18.35-$29.80

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required.
  • Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
