Responsibilities
- You will provide technical and specialized professional services for the Boards of Barber and Cosmetology, including responsibility for the financial operations of the Boards.
- You will supervise and train staff that provides administrative support and licensing functions to these Boards.
- You will serve as the point of contact and coordinator for continuing education providers, associations, and schools related to these Boards.
- You will communicate with testing services to provide data for individuals testing and receiving scores for examinations as part of the licensing process.
- You will perform other duties related to processing licensure applications, assisting with board meetings, responding to inquiries about the licensing process, and providing accurate information.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of applicable state laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the Barber and Cosmetology programs.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting laws, regulations, policies, and procedures with licensees and applicants.
- Ability to follow complex instructions.
- Skills in office equipment and computer use.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
Other Requirements
- Work in an office environment with periods of sitting and standing.
- Use of computers and telephones for records filing and communication.
- Occasional work outside normal hours.
- Ability to lift, carry, move, or position objects up to 25 lbs.
