Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Program Coordinator to advance public health workforce awareness in the Metropolitan Area Region. You will coordinate outreach, support K-12 engagement, internships, and fellowships with local health departments, academic partners, and community organizations.

You will establish relationships with departments and institutions, design opportunities, provide implementation support, and coordinate MOUs while maintaining placement inventories.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field with substantial coordination experience.
  • Experience in public health program planning, design, implementation and evaluation preferred.
  • Experience engaging with academic institutions, including K-12 and higher education, preferred.
  • Supervisory or staff management experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate outreach and technical assistance activities supporting public health workforce awareness.
  • Support K-12 engagement, apprenticeships, fellowships, externships, and internships with partners.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with health departments, K-12 programs, and higher education partners.
  • Design and establish internship, fellowship, and externship opportunities with partners.
  • Provide ongoing implementation support to local health departments.
  • Coordinate technical assistance and training for partners and participants.
  • Coordinate development and maintenance of MOUs with regional higher education institutions.
  • Maintain participant and placement inventory.
  • Support host organizations, supervisors, and participants; identify gaps and improvement areas.
  • Create and oversee professional development programming.
  • Promote public health workforce awareness at career fairs and community events.
  • Complete other related duties.

Job description


  • Coordinate outreach and technical assistance activities supporting public health workforce awareness in the Metropolitan Area Region

  • Support K-12 engagement, apprenticeships, fellowships, externships, and internships with local health departments, academic institutions, and regional, state, local, and community-based partners

  • Establish and maintain relationships with local health departments, K-12 programs, higher education institutions, and workforce partners across 10 counties

  • Design and establish internship, fellowship, and externship opportunities with partners

  • Provide ongoing implementation support to local health departments

  • Coordinate technical assistance and training for partners and participants

  • Coordinate development and maintenance of memoranda of understanding with regional higher education institutions

  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of participants and placements

  • Support host organizations, supervisors, and participants; identify gaps and continuous quality improvement areas

  • Create and oversee professional development programming

  • Promote public health workforce awareness programs at career fairs and community events

  • Complete other related duties


Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of experience in program coordination; OR associate degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience

  • At least one year of experience must include supervision of staff and/or program management

  • A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of general experience

  • Experience in public health program planning, design, implementation, and evaluation preferred

  • Professional experience engaging with academic institutions, including K-12 programs and higher education institutions, preferred

  • Experience collaborating with local health departments on public health programming preferred

  • Recruitment experience in health care, public health, nursing, and/or clinical positions preferred

  • Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. required

  • Visa sponsorship is not available

  • Travel up to 25% of the time required

  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location

  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts prior to hire

  • Must comply with funding requirements, including time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables
