Job summary

Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas is seeking a Program Coordinator/Data Analyst to support behavioral health efforts across the RGV region. This onsite role in Harlingen, TX combines community engagement with program coordination and data-informed planning to reduce risk factors and strengthen prevention, education, outreach, and coalition efforts.

You will help build partnerships and advisory groups, coordinate community needs assessments, and support screening and referral workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or equivalent.
• Experience in social services and conducting presentations.
• Experience networking in the community or with schools or at-risk populations.
• Experience conducting community needs assessments and data collection/analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment for Behavioral Health and community leaders; develop partnerships, MOUs, referral pathways, and communication protocols.
• Coordinate community needs assessments; develop and implement measurable strategic plans for behavioral health, prevention, resilience, and safety.
• Monitor program outcomes, participation, and QA; coordinate data collection and long-term partnerships.
• Conduct community outreach and deliver prevention education on behavioral health.
• Lead youth and family advisory groups and engage community members in prevention and leadership activities.
• Conduct screenings for behavioral health, trauma, and substance use; provide referrals and navigation; follow up to connect to services.
• Provide oversight to coalition specialist staff.

This onsite role in Harlingen, TX combines community engagement with program coordination and data-informed planning to reduce risk factors and strengthen prevention, education, outreach, and coalition efforts.

In this position, you will help build partnerships and advisory groups, coordinate community needs assessments, and support screening and referral workflows. You will also provide oversight to coalition specialist staff while monitoring outcomes and maintaining long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment efforts for diverse Behavioral Health and community leaders, including developing partnerships, MOUs, referral pathways, and communication protocols.
• Coordinate community needs assessments by engaging stakeholders and leading the development and implementation of measurable strategic plans focused on behavioral health, prevention, resilience, and community safety.
• Monitor program outcomes, participation, and quality assurance strategies while coordinating data collection, strategic planning, sustainability efforts, and ongoing community partnerships.
• Conduct community outreach and deliver prevention education related to behavioral health.
• Lead the development of youth and family advisory groups and involve youth, families, and community members in activities that promote prevention, leadership, resilience, and behavioral health.
• Conduct behavioral health, trauma, and substance use screenings; identify individual needs and risk factors; provide referrals and resource navigation; and follow up to support successful connections to treatment, recovery, and supportive services.
• Provide oversight and guidance to coalition specialist staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or equivalent.
• Experience in social services and conducting presentations, plus preferred experience networking in the community or in schools or working with at-risk populations.
• Experience conducting community needs assessments and data collection and analysis.
• Reliable transportation and current insurance; travel is required within the service area.
• Bilingual: English and Spanish.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: USD $35,000–$38,000 per year, depending on experience.
