Job summary

Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas is seeking a passionate Program Coordinator to engage RGV communities in prevention, education, outreach, and coalition-building that promote behavioral health and reduce trauma and related risks.

You will mobilize community partners to implement trauma-informed strategies addressing needs of children, families, veterans, and at-risk populations, with a focus on collaboration, evaluation, and sustainable impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or equivalent.
• Experience with community needs assessments and data collection/analysis.
• Experience in social services, presenting, networking with community or schools or at-risk populations.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment of diverse Behavioral Health and community leaders, including MOUs, referral pathways, and communication protocols.
• Coordinate community needs assessments, engage stakeholders, and lead the development of measurable strategic plans.
• Monitor program outcomes, participation, and quality assurance strategies while coordinating data collection and partnerships.
• Conduct community outreach and prevention education focused on behavioral health.
• Lead youth and family advisory groups and engage communities in prevention and resilience activities.
• Conduct screenings and provide referrals and resource navigation for behavioral health and substance use.
• Provide oversight and guidance to coalition staff.

Job description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Program Coordinator to engage RGV communities in prevention, education, outreach, and coalition-building activities that promote behavioral health and reduce the impact of trauma, violence, substance misuse, and other risk factors. The position will mobilize community partners to implement evidence-based, trauma-informed strategies that address the needs of children and adolescents, individuals experiencing socioeconomic challenges, veterans and military families, justice-involved individuals, and families requiring coordinated multi-system support.

Job Description:

• Lead recruitment of diverse Behavioral Health and community leaders, including developing partnerships, MOUs, referral pathways, and communication protocols.
• Coordinate community needs assessments, engage stakeholders, and lead development and implementation of measurable strategic plans addressing behavioral health, prevention, resilience, and community safety.
• Monitor program outcomes, participation, and quality assurance strategies while coordinating data collection, strategic planning, sustainability efforts, and maintaining long-term community partnerships.
• Conduct community outreach and prevention education focused on behavioral health.
• Lead the development of youth and family advisory groups and engage youth, families, and community members in prevention, leadership, resilience, and behavioral health promotion activities.
• Conduct behavioral health, trauma, and substance use screenings; identify individual needs and risk factors; provide appropriate referrals and resource navigation; and follow up to support successful connections to treatment, recovery, and supportive services.
• Provide oversight and guidance to coalition specialist staff.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or equivalent.
• Experience working in social services, conducting presentations, networking in the community or schools or at risk population is preferred.
• Experience with community needs assessments and data collection/analysis.
• Must have reliable transportation and current insurance; travel is required within the service area.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Pay: $35,000–$38,000 per year, depending on experience.
