Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a part-time, hourly Program Coordinator to run an 8-week leadership summer program for New Brunswick youth aged 14 to 18.

Responsibilities include supporting the Middlesex County Diversion program and director, overseeing day-to-day operations, contract compliance, service delivery, and youth intake/referral processes. Light travel is required; bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred; commensurate experience accepted.
  • At least one year of personnel and budgets management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; EHR experience is a plus.
  • Experience in home and community-based services preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.
  • Spanish bilingual ability preferred.

Job description

Status: Part-Time Hourly FLSA classification: Non-Exempt

Seasonal position to coordinate and facilitate an 8-week leadership summer program for New Brunswick youth between the ages of 14 to 18.

Summary of the Position: This position is responsible to provide support for the Middlesex County Diversion program and program director.

  • Program Coordinator should have a strong knowledge of the day-to-day operations of their program, particularly as it relates to contract compliance, service delivery, and the participants intake/referral process for services.
  • The work has less to do with general office duties than with assisting in the operation or administration of a local program/unit.
  • Position will also perform Advocate duties. Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings.

The position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, and activity reimbursement.

Light Travel throughout community.

Availability: This is a 8-week, seasonal position

Hourly Rate: $21.00

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree generally preferred; commensurate experience in community-based agency program is acceptable except for programs where the referring authority requires a specific degree.
  • At a minimum, at least one-year previous experience in managing personnel and budgets.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system is a plus.
  • Experience in the provision of home and community-based services.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
