PMMI Media Group is seeking a Program Coordinator to support their Workforce Development Department, focusing on student engagement initiatives. This role is crucial for coordinating outreach programs to encourage careers in packaging and processing. Successful candidates will manage logistics for various events, build relationships with educational institutions, and help foster workforce development. Summary of the Position:
The Program Coordinator supports PMMI's Workforce Development Department with a primary focus on student engagement initiatives funded by the PMMI Foundation. This role is integral in coordinating outreach programs that introduce students to careers in packaging and processing, with special emphasis on the PACK Challenge and other hands-on STEM competitions. The coordinator serves as a key liaison with educational institutions and supports signature events that promote workforce development across the industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and execute student-focused programs such as the PACK Challenge, summer manufacturing camps, and STEM outreach events.
Act as the main point of contact for educational institutions, building and maintaining relationships with school administrators, teachers, and program stakeholders.
Develop and implement outreach strategies to expand participation in PMMI Foundation-supported programs, including PACK Challenge and summer manufacturing camps.
Conduct presentations at schools, events, and conferences to promote careers in packaging and processing.
Help coordinate activities at PMMI tradeshows including the PACK Challenge, Amazing Packaging Race, Future Innovators Robotics Showcase, student tours and Workforce Development Pavilion.
Oversee logistics, registration, sponsorship tracking, and volunteer coordination for all PACK Challenge events (kickoff, qualifiers, and championship).
Maintain the PACK Challenge website and provide program information to schools and industry partners.
Track and report outreach efforts and participation to guide future program development.
Identify and share success stories from PMMI U, the PACK Challenge, and other PMMI Foundation initiatives.
Assist with creating social media content (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok) to highlight student engagement and promote events.
Support ongoing PACK Challenge communication with a nationwide network of volunteers, and team coaches/ mentors.
Provide assistance to individuals and organizations seeking information about PMMI's student programs.
Maintain accurate records of contacts, outreach activities, and event participation.
Serve as backup for Training Program Administrator
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in education, business, communications, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in program coordination, education outreach, or volunteer engagement.
Ability to travel frequently (25%) and work flexible hours, including evenings and occasionally on weekends as needed.
Strong organizational and critical thinking skills and keen attention to detail.
Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative team player.
Comfortable working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Familiarity with basic design tools like Canva, Adobe Create Suite etc
Experience with social media management tools (eg. Spout, Buffer)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to quickly learn new SaaS tools.
