Job summary

Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area is seeking a Program and Community Outreach Manager to support public and partner engagement across 45 communities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. You will elevate programming quality, expand the organization’s visibility, and strengthen networks with partner organizations and supporters through programs, grants, and community meetings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in public programming, visitor engagement, or museum/public education.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Proven program development and event execution experience.
• Track record of engaging community organizations and building partnerships.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to groups.
• Experience using social media and digital platforms to drive interest and attendance.
• Donor management platforms (e.g., Little Green Light) and Adobe InDesign experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage implementation of current programming (e.g., Hidden Treasures Festival of Nature, Culture & History; Grant Programs; internships; partner events).
• Develop and refine programming with leadership to boost community engagement and participation.
• Plan and execute workshops, conferences, community gatherings, trainings, and webinars.
• Lead social media, publicity, and outreach to promote website/app usage.
• Collaborate with partners to curate content for the website to enhance its usefulness for tourists and residents.
• Identify and deepen relationships with community stakeholders.
• Plan meetings and surveys to gather community feedback and evaluate engagement initiatives.
