Job summary

Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area seeks a Program and Community Outreach Manager to elevate programming, expand partnerships, and increase community involvement across 45 communities. The role reports to the Executive Director and collaborates with partners and supporters.

Work includes managing current programs like the Hidden Treasures Festival of Nature, Culture & History, planning events, expanding online presence, and coordinating surveys and feedback.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in public programming or museum/public education
• Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s preferred
• Experience coordinating events and managing partners/ volunteers
• Proven ability to engage community organizations and develop partnerships
• Strong multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Experience using social media to drive engagement

Responsibilities

• Manage the implementation of current programming, including the Hidden Treasures Festival of Nature, Culture & History; Partnership Grant Program; Legacy Grant Program; Pathways Internship Program; partner gatherings; and other organizational programs.
• Develop programming for partners and the public to increase engagement; create workshops, conferences, community gatherings, training, and webinars.
• Use creative social media campaigns, local publicity, and other outreach to promote the website and accompanying app.
• Curate content and collateral to populate the website and support tourism and community use.
• Identify, initiate, and deepen relationships with community stakeholders.
• Plan and implement meetings, surveys, and feedback mechanisms; evaluate engagement initiatives.
