Job summary

Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) in New York is seeking a Program Associate for the Willowbrook Consumer Advisory Board. The role entails administrative and clinical supervision of CAB representatives, coverage for the Executive Director, and participation in board meetings.

Travel statewide, with telecommuting discussion at interview. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's and a Master's in Human Services/Special Education with at least 5 years in developmental disability

Qualifications

• Must have Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Human Services/Special Education and at least 5 years experience working with people who have developmental disabilities, at least 3 years working in advocacy capacity.
• Must be available for statewide travel and must have good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Function as an Assistant Director; provide administrative and clinical supervision of eight CAB representatives.
• Provide coverage for the Executive Director and attend regularly scheduled Board meetings.
• Assist in recruitment and training of staff; provide ongoing in-service training to supervisees and CAB staff.
• Review and submit comments on proposed policies/regulations; review and follow-up on incident reports or rights violations.
• On a rotational schedule, respond to the CAB voicemail box on holidays, nights and weekends.
