Qualifications

  • Strong project management, event planning, and data tracking skills
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and travel to off-site locations as required

  • Recruit prospective students through information sessions, workshops, outreach events, direct marketing and community engagement
  • Facilitate onboarding for students pursuing microcredentials and CPL, ensuring compliance with policies
  • Provide onboarding support for students entering degree or certificate programs after microcredentials or CPL
  • Guide students through CPL applications and translate prior experience into academic credit
  • Deliver student-centered advising and support for academic programs and career pathways
  • Maintain records of student interactions and program participation using institutional systems
  • Support credential validation and verification processes with the Associate Director

PROGRAM ASSOCIATE FOR WORKFORCE INNOVATION

Salary Range: $20.00 To $25.00 Annually

Position : PROGRAM ASSOCIATE FOR WORKFORCE INNOVATION – 24 HOURS/WEEK (GRANT FUNDED)

The Program Associate is responsible for supporting the college's microcredentials and credit for prior learning (CPL) initiatives. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Workforce Innovation, this position will support the student onboarding process for microcredentials and the support of students as they apply for credit through the CPL process. The Program Associate will also support the recruitment of students for both initiatives through the facilitation of information sessions and workshops. This role will also be responsible for providing student-centered services and supporting outreach that prepares students to enter workforce-aligned academic and career pathways.

Essential Functions:

  • Report to the Associate Director of Workforce Innovation to support workforce-focused educational initiatives and student success.
  • Coordinate and support the college's Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) and Microcredential programs.
  • Recruit prospective students through information sessions, workshops, outreach events, direct marketing and community engagement, with an emphasis on adult learners, returning students, and other non-traditional student populations.
  • Facilitate onboarding for students pursuing microcredentials and CPL, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
  • Provide individualized and group transition-to-matriculation support for students entering degree or certificate programs after completing microcredentials or earning credit through prior learning.
  • Guide students through the Credit for Prior Learning application process, helping them translate prior education, work, military, and life experiences into academic credit opportunities.
  • Deliver student-centered advising and support to help students navigate academic programs, career pathways, and college resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions, program participation, and case documentation using institutional systems.
  • Support credential validation and verification processes in collaboration with the Associate Director of Workforce Innovation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to advance workforce innovation, student success, and institutional goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree and two (2) years of administrative, student services, workforce development, or program support experience or Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of related experience
  • Experience working in higher education, adult education, or student support services
  • Strong communication and presentations skills
  • Strong project management, event planning, and data tracking skills
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to off-site locations, as required

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of workforce development, higher education, or adult learning is helpful
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments while working independently when needed
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations, including adult learners and non-traditional students
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and student information or data management systems
