Summary Of Job Duties
Postharvest Processing Program Associate position will be joining an important research & extension postharvest processing program focusing on improving the processing efficiencies, quality of agricultural commodities and human safety on farms and processing plants.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: collection and analysis of data; management of hourly employees, Lab spaces management, develop extension tools and conduct activities; meeting stakeholders; and other duties.
Continuation of this position is contingent upon availability of grant funds and annual performance review.
The position will be located at the Northeast Rice Research and Extension Center (NERREC), located in Harrisburg, AR.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have a B.S. degree in Agricultural/Food Engineering or closely related area.
Three years of experience OR an M.S. Degree in Agricultural/Food Engineering or closely related area. Must have a valid US driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experiences of research in crop postharvest processing, data analyses, and research writing and presentation are highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including word, power point and excel. Ability to learn new computer programs and skills such as statistical tools and graphics design.
The employee must be able to perform physical work such as lifting a minimum of 50 pounds, on-field sampling of crops when needed, driving University vehicle. Seasonal travel to off-station test sites will be required.
