Department: Arts and Sciences | Linguistics
The Department of Linguistics is seeking a Language Consultant for the Summer Linguistic Institute for Youth Scholars (SLIYS) program. Consultants meet with groups of 4-5 students daily, answering questions about their native language and attempting to write a grammar sketch for this "new" language. They must answer questions without revealing grammar details. Meetings are virtual via Zoom, Monday through Thursday, for up to four weeks, with a new group each week. Consultants participate in debriefs with the SLIYS coordinator and instructors for feedback and training.
Additional Information: The target hiring range is $15.86-$20.75/hour. The final offer will depend on internal equity, budget, and qualifications.
