Summary of the Position:
The Nutramax Laboratories’ Commercial Development Program (CDP) is the premier development program for early-career sales and marketing professionals. It builds the foundation for long-term commercial leadership roles within Nutramax Laboratories. CDP concentrates on the development of sales and leadership skills and provides a direct path to a field-based sales position or to a variety of in-house marketing roles. The approximate two-to-three-year program gives participants a complete understanding of Nutramax Laboratories’ business including mission, culture, values, leadership model, sales and marketing organization, veterinary science industry, broader Nutramax support functions, and tools to build a successful sales and marketing career at Nutramax Laboratories.
The approximate 24–36 month development program is made up of three key components to build commercial skills and business acumen:
Candidates selected for this leadership program will join Nutramax Laboratories’ commercial team at our corporate headquarters in Lancaster, SC for ~12-18 months. After the initial ~6 months, CDPA’s will begin their career as an Inside Sales Representative. As an ISR, the CDPA will be placed within a sales district (virtually) and will maintain their own portfolio of veterinary hospital/clinic accounts. The CDPA/ISR will be responsible for growing their territory via inside sales tactics. They will be managed by the Inside Sales supervisor with a dotted line to the field-based District Manager. Success will be measured by overall sales growth, market share expansion, meeting/exceeding strategic program objectives, and expansion of the depth of products sold per account.
After the successful completion of the ISR rotation, CDPA’s may have the option to intern as either a field-based Sales Support Representative (FSS) Representative or in-house marketing intern for approximately 6 months. The marketing roles may potentially include digital/e-comm marketing associate, market segment marketing associate, product marketing associate, or other related commercial associate roles. These assignments are designed for participants to gain better understanding the overall business, industry, customers, and internal teams beyond the insides sales roles.
Upon completion of the ISR rotation, FSS or Marketing intern roles, CDPA’s participants will interview for field-based Regional Sales Manager role or in-house based marketing associate roles.
CDPA positions are required to be geographically mobile within the United States, willing to be initially located in Lancaster, SC for the initial ~ 12-18 months and willing to later accept a field-based sales position to qualify for the program or a position at headquarters.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree from accredited four-year university in business, business management, marketing, sales leadership or related degrees.
· Preferred typing speed minimum 45 words per minute
· Able to be on the telephone and drive sales for a full working day and speak clearly and effectively to all assigned customers.
· Goal-oriented, energetic, optimistic, with a passion for inside sales and business development, seeks out feedback and thrives in a culture of accountability, meeting weekly KPI’s associated with Quantity, Quality and Outreach. (Examples of KPI’s may include – outbound calls, outbound call time, close ratio, sales, SQL’s, call quality evaluation score, and post-call automated survey scores).
· Core skills of business development, sales, initiative, planning and follow up, client management, and judgment/problem solving.
· The ability to develop strong professional relationships in a dynamic and challenging environment.
· Demonstrated digital acumen and proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional team.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Geographically mobile within the United States and willing to accept a field-based sales position upon completion of CDPA program (relocation assistance provided).
· Have schedule flexibility to adapt to various time zone requirements in assigned territories.
· Ability to travel 50% of the time for the FSS and RSM positions.
Inside Sales Representative (ISR) Responsibilities:
Business Development / Sales (70%)
· Actively reaching out to assigned veterinary clinics via phone and email.
· Understand customer needs and pain points to recommend suitable products.
· Identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell additional products to existing customers, helping our clients build revenue within their clinic.
· Ensure all customer interactions reflect the highest level of professionalism and customer-centricity.
· Nurture leads through follow-up communication and convert them into sales.
· Comply with privacy policy and ensure ethical and legal sales practices.
Field Support (10%)
· Connect with and support Outside Sales Representative (OSR) in assigned territory.
· Be key point of contact at corporate headquarters for OSR, facilitating requests for premium marketing supplies, printed materials, trade show supplies, etc.
Marketing Outreach (5%)
· Execute email marketing campaigns within assigned territory that promote special offers, product launches and events to generate interest and sales.
CRM (10%)
· Maintain accurate records of lead interactions and progression in the CRM system.
· Maintain a sales pipeline in the CRM system to meet funnel KPIs.
· Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales progress, contact and clinic information.
Misc. (5%)
· Perform other assigned duties as may be required within meeting company objectives.
· Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environment.
· Regular attendance is required.
Commercial Development Representative Career Options (not limited to these):
Field Sales Specialist (FSS) is an entry level outside sales representative position. FSS will promote and sell Nutramax Laboratories products to veterinarians, practice managers, LVTs and other veterinary professionals in an assigned geography/district. Must be willing to relocate to a FSS territory in assigned district.
· Educate, promote and sell Nutramax Laboratories products to the veterinary clinics assigned.
· Provide territory coverage for Regional Sales Managers.
· Attend local, regional or national trade shows when necessary.
· Support other areas of the Nutramax Laboratories business when necessary (retail, equine).
· Assist in developing and implementing key programs and/or initiatives in the One NMX Zone.
· Perform any other sales related tasks that are assigned by National Sales Manager, Zone Sales Manager, District Sales Manager or Regional Sales Manager mentor.
Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for calling on distributor representatives and Veterinarians with complete information pertaining to Nutramax veterinary products in a manner that will ensure the appropriate recommendation and use of the product line to achieve business growth.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Ride with and provide product and technical training to veterinary distributor representatives and OTC representatives.
· Assist with the launch of new products by ensuring call centers are trained and have the necessary support materials for their customers.
· Visit veterinarian offices to sell products by providing detailed information, samples (as needed), and educational lunch and learn seminar.
· Communicate with distributor representatives and schedule dinner meetings.
· Work in conjunction with Technical Service Veterinarian to schedule meetings with influential staff members at assigned veterinary schools and host symposiums and lectures with veterinary students.
· Visit veterinary schools within the assigned region to keep them apprised of veterinary school pricing and new products.
· Work within a yearly budget including marketing activities to launch and sustain veterinary products within the field.
· Provide timely reports to the home office that are informative and contain useful industry related information regarding changes in the industry and Nutramax's competition.
· Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives.

Marketing Segment Specialist will have the opportunity to make impactful contributions to some of the most iconic brands in the animal-health industry. As a valuable member of the team, you will support brand initiatives through project management, campaign performance tracking, and content creation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pets, strong foundation in marketing curriculum, and desire to learn and grow.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Assist in executing marketing initiatives to support Nutramax brands.
· Create reports for campaign performance, including quantitative and qualitative data.
· Perform market analysis and competitive research.
· Prepare marketing materials across digital and print applications.
· Actively participate in meetings and present findings, insights, and recommendations.
· Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environment.
· Perform other assigned duties as may be required in meeting company objectives.
Product Management Specialist will assist in the development of multi-year product roadmaps that reflect customer needs, competitive landscapes, and business objectives. You will provide support to help manage product lifecycle strategies-encompassing launch, growth, market access, optimization, and rationalization-while assisting in promotional efforts.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Work with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and prioritize new product opportunities based on market insights, customer needs, and business objectives.
· Assist with tracking of competitive activity.
· Help with monitoring the performance of innovation initiatives.
· Work with channel management to execute product strategy and meet topline revenue objectives.
· Partner with marketing management on product campaign development.
