Job summary

Lutheran Community Services Northwest seeks a part-time Immigration Program Assistant to support clients in Seattle, WA. You will assist the Staff Attorney and Immigration Specialist with immigration matters, manage documents, and help coordinate client appointments, contributing to our mission of health, justice, and hope.

Required are 1 year of related experience, HS diploma, and fluent English and Spanish. The role engages in outreach and works within diverse communities in Washington.

  • Demonstrated fluency in English AND Spanish, both spoken and written.
  • Intermediate mastery of business applications and productivity suites.
  • Ability to work in a diverse, multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide immigration support and advocacy to clients in Seattle, WA.
  • Assist in outreach to immigrant and refugee communities in Washington.
  • Support Staff Attorney and Immigration Specialist with various immigration matters.
  • Upload USCIS notices and documents to immigration software; organize files.
  • Schedule client appointments and manage the Staff Attorney’s calendar.

How You Will Make An Impact

All LCSNW team members will contribute to our mission of partnering with individuals, families, and communities for health, justice, and hope. The part time Immigration Program Assistant is responsible for providing immigration support and advocacy to clients in our Seattle, Washington office and assisting in outreach to the immigrant and refugee community in Washington.

  • Provide support to the Staff Attorney and Immigration Specialist with a wide variety of immigration matters including but not limited to Naturalization, Adjustment of Status, and Family Reunification.
  • Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to uploading USCIS notices and other documents to immigration software, making copies, and organizing file cabinets.
  • Schedule appointments for clients and organize the Staff Attorney’s calendar.
  • Maintain accurate client files and detailed case notes.
  • Attend ongoing training and continuing education courses to keep updated on recent changes in Immigration Law.
How You Will Be A Great Fit
  • 1 year of related experience;
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated fluency in English AND Spanish, both spoken and written
  • Intermediate mastery of business applications and productivity suites

  • Travels between worksites occasionally Works in a variety of settings, including and not limited to LCSNW office locations, partner agency and community-based settings, and faith-based settings such as churches
  • Meets LCSNW criminal background clearance requirements and other job-relevant clearances as required by the State or program
