Job summary

Lutheran Community Services NW seeks a part-time Immigration Program Assistant to support clients in Seattle, WA. You will assist Staff Attorney and Immigration Specialist with naturalization, adjustment of status, and family reunification matters, and help with documentation in immigration software.

You will schedule appointments, maintain accurate files, and participate in ongoing training to stay updated on immigration law.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of related experience
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated fluency in English AND Spanish, both spoken and written
  • Intermediate mastery of business applications and productivity suites
  • Demonstrates resilience and adaptability in challenging environments

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Staff Attorney and Immigration Specialist with immigration matters (Naturalization, Adjustment of Status, Family Reunification)
  • Complete administrative tasks including uploading USCIS notices and other documents to immigration software, copying, and organizing files
  • Schedule appointments for clients and manage the Staff Attorney’s calendar
  • Maintain accurate client files and detailed case notes
  • Attend ongoing training and continuing education courses to stay updated on immigration law

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

All LCSNW team members will contribute to our mission of partnering with individuals, families,and communities for health, justice,and hope.The part time Immigration Program Assistantis responsible forproviding immigration support and advocacy to clients in our Seattle, Washington office andassistinginoutreach totheimmigrant and refugee community in Washington.

  • Provide support to the Staff Attorney and Immigration Specialist with a wide variety of immigration matters including but not limited to Naturalization, Adjustment of Status, and Family Reunification.
  • Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to uploading USCIS notices and other documents to immigration software, making copies, and organizing file cabinets.
  • Schedule appointments for clients and organize the StaffAttorney’s calendar.
  • Maintainaccurateclient files and detailed case notes.
  • Attend ongoing training and continuing education courses to keep updated on recent changes in Immigration Law.

HOW YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT:

  • 1yearof related experience;
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated fluency in English AND Spanish, both spoken and written
  • Intermediate mastery of business applications and productivity suites
  • Demonstrates resilience, awareness and self-regulation in navigating challenges,conflictand obstacles/barriers.

  • Moves equipment/materials weighing up to15pounds
  • Travels between worksites occasionallyWorks in a variety of settings, including and not limited to LCSNW office locations, partner agency and community-based settings, and faith-based settings such as churches
  • Meets LCSNW criminal background clearance requirements and other job-relevant clearances as required by the State or program
