Focus is on practicing and improving communication and teamwork skills, professionalism, and academic integrity while exploring ways to develop and enhance career opportunities. Students will become familiar with the university's academic culture and expectations, reflect on academic and professional goals, complete assignments relevant to their major, discuss ways to advance progress toward a degree through transfer credit and other prior learning, and explore UMGC's resources for student success.

At UMGC, we don't just teach; we empower. Founded in 1947, UMGC is an open-access, minority-serving institution serving over 100,000 nontraditional learners worldwide, including a proud, large military-affiliated population. Our students are mature, highly dedicated, and balancing careers, families, and service. • Team Up: Partner with success coaches, academic staff, and portfolio directors to refer struggling students to UMGC support resources.
