Job Summary

Athletic Event Ushers are the first point of contact for fans and guests at Miami University events. They assist with the operation of the stadium and/or arena to ensure the safety and well-being of guests at both athletic and non‑athletic events.

Essential Duties
  • Greet, interact with, and provide information to all guests in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Inspect and set up gates and turnstiles before the event; break down and store at the conclusion.
  • Monitor the flow of patrons; enforce rules and regulations before, during, and after the event.
  • Resolve seating and other problems; ensure persons are seated properly.
  • Seat handicapped persons and handle VIP seating.
  • Read attendance from the turnstile at the end of the event and report attendance to supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school education or GED.
  • No experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Customer service skills.
