Job summary

OpenEd, a fully remote education company, seeks a Program Administrator to own the Indiana program with elevated compliance requirements. You will translate state-specific requirements into day-to-day guidance for teachers, specialists, and support teams.

You’ll partner with the Director of Program Implementation, monitor fidelity through data, audits, and workflows, and lead cross-functional collaboration to improve student and family experiences while ensuring program alignment and regulatory

Qualifications

  • Residence in Indiana is required with occasional in-state travel.
  • 5+ years of experience in K–12 education, preferably virtual or blended.
  • Proven ability to design, implement and improve systems at scale.
  • Strong understanding of core school operations (attendance, assessment, curriculum, grading, student support).
  • Excellent written communication and ability to translate concepts into guidance.
  • Experience cross-functionally influencing without direct authority.
  • Ability to use metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Experience developing training materials and operational playbooks.

Responsibilities

  • Own the implementation and ongoing execution of a specialized program with elevated compliance requirements.
  • Ensure teachers and specialists understand and adhere to program expectations, policies, and workflows.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on state-specific and program-specific requirements.
  • Monitor program fidelity through data, audits, and regular review of key systems (attendance, engagement, progress, documentation).
  • Identify compliance risks or gaps and proactively address them.
  • Partner with the Director of Program Implementation to align program execution with broader system design.
  • Support staff through training, communication, and ongoing guidance related to program requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective execution.
  • Elevate trends and opportunities for improvement based on program data and stakeholder feedback.
  • Advocate for product and system enhancements to improve experiences for students, families, and staff.
  • Support documentation and audit readiness to ensure compliance with state and partner expectations.

About the Role

The Program Administrator is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation and ongoing execution of a specialized OpenEd program in Indiana with elevated compliance requirements and program-specific expectations. This role serves as the primary owner of program-level fidelity, ensuring that teachers, specialists, and support teams clearly understand and consistently execute requirements unique to the program.

Working under the direction of the Director of Program Implementation, the Program Administrator translates program expectations into day-to-day practice while maintaining deep expertise in state-specific requirements. This role also serves as a key advocate for continuous improvement, elevating insights and recommending product and process enhancements that improve the student, parent, and staff experience.

The ideal candidate combines strong knowledge of compliance and program requirements with the ability to operationalize expectations, support staff, and drive alignment across teams. This role will involve cross-functional collaboration and requires residency in the state the program serves.

In this role, the Program Administrator will have an immediate impact by ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance within their assigned program. By supporting staff in understanding and executing program-specific requirements, proactively identifying risks, and strengthening communication across teams, this role will lead to improved program fidelity, reduced compliance gaps, and a more seamless experience for students and families from day one.

Team & Autonomy

This is a full-time position. The Program Administrator reports directly to the Director of Program Implementation and works closely with academic, student services, operations, and product teams to ensure program alignment and success. This role requires residency in the state the program serves and a high degree of ownership, responsiveness, and independent judgment in managing program-specific needs.

Required
  • This position requires residence in the state of Indiana and will require occasional in-state travel to oversee in-person assessments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Public Administration, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in K–12 education, preferably in virtual, blended, or non-traditional learning environments.

  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and improving systems or programs at scale.

  • Strong understanding of core school operations (attendance, assessment, curriculum, grading, and student support systems).

  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance.

  • Experience working cross-functionally and influencing without direct authority.

  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to use metrics to inform decisions and continuous improvement.

  • Experience developing training materials, documentation, or operational playbooks.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to identify gaps, solve problems, and drive alignment across teams.

  • Attend team meetings as requested or required.
