Ohio Department of Public Safety – Ohio Emergency Medical Services seeks aProgram Administrator 3 to oversee EMS and firefighter certification issuance and maintenance, aligning goals with the agency and state board directives. You will liaise with officials and the public while ensuring confidentiality and timely processing of applications.

The role requires program management experience, strong policy development skills, and the ability to coordinate across divisions.

What You'll Do as an Program Administrator 3

• Oversees the issuance & maintenance of all EMS & Fire provider & instructor certifications;
• Identifies short & long-term goals for the certification section that are consistent with those of the agency, division, & the State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, & Transportation Services (EMFTS);
• Provides information on EMS & fire certification activities & policies to private organizations, government officials, & general public;
• Ensures timely processing of applications & maintains confidentiality of documents & information in accordance with state & federal laws & regulations;
• Serves as liaison & maintains ongoing communication with Executive Director, Deputy Director, EMS & Fire service stakeholders, & other state agencies;

Additional Information

This position is essential, meaning the duties this job performs are critical to the continued operations of the Ohio Department of Public Safety during a public safety emergency (OAC 123: 1-46-01 & DAS Directive HR-D-11). This position will be required to report for duty during any public safety emergency.

Qualifications:

OPTION 1:

5 yrs. trg. or 5 yrs. exp. in business administration, management or public administration.

OPTION 2:

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management or public administration;

AND36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.

OPTION 3:

-Or completion of undergraduate core program for academic field of study commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on File

AND 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.

OPTION 4:

-Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 2, 63123.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
