The University of Toledo invites applications for a Transplant Nephrologist at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level and Director of Transplantation. The role focuses on comprehensive patient-centered care for kidney and kidney-pancreas transplant candidates and recipients across the transplantation continuum.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent medical degree required.
• ACGME-credited Internal Medicine residency + Nephrology fellowship.
• AST-accredited Transplant Nephrology fellowship or equivalent.
• Board cert/eligibility in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
• Unrestricted Ohio medical license eligibility; DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate kidney and kidney-pancreas transplant candidates.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient care for transplant recipients.
• Care for living donors in collaboration with donor team.
• Manage complex post-transplant complications and immunosuppression.
• Participate in call, clinics, and organ-offer discussions.
• Coordinate transitions of care with nephrology and dialysis.
• Document accurately and support quality improvement activities.
• Collaborate with leadership on program metrics and outcomes.
