Job summary

University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine’s Department of Medicine seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor in the non-tenure Clinician Educator track, specializing in leadership of an adult kidney transplant program. Board-certified nephrology physicians with MD or MD/PhD are required.

The ideal candidate will lead teaching of nephrology and transplant nephrology fellows and residents, oversee clinical transplant services, and drive scholarly activity in kidney

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD or equivalent degree.
• Board certification in Nephrology required.
• Expertise in clinical, regulatory and administrative leadership of an adult kidney transplant program.
• Candidates must meet OPTN/UNOS criteria to serve as a primary kidney transplant physician.

Responsibilities

• Teaching responsibilities may include instruction and supervision of nephrology and transplant nephrology fellows, internal medicine residents, and medical students.
• Clinical responsibilities may include evaluation and management of kidney transplant candidates and recipients, and collaboration with transplant coordinators and APPs.
• Research or scholarship responsibilities may include leading clinical, translational, or health services research related to kidney transplantation.
• Medical Director responsibilities include overseeing clinical, operational, and regulatory aspects of the Kidney Transplant Program in partnership with leadership and Penn Transplant Institute.
