Hocking College is seeking a Tutor/Mentor to support Trio program participants with academic and social guidance. Under the supervision of the Program Director, you will assist students in Writing, Math and Science, monitor progress, and help with study skills.

This role requires patient communication, adaptability to diverse learning styles, and collaboration with faculty. A Bachelor's or Master’s degree is preferred; prior tutoring or teaching experience is valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any field.
  • Experience teaching or tutoring high school or college students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and exhibit great customer service.
  • Ability to break down information for all levels of learning.
  • Working knowledge of technology (computer systems, software, databases, AI).

Responsibilities

  • Provide Academic Assistance in core subjects such as Writing, Math and Science courses.
  • Maintain service documentation for each student session/interaction.

  • Create flyers for the promotion of tutoring, workshops, etc.
  • Assist with office/area organization and tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
