  • Provide tutoring to students with coursework in an officeenvironment or online
  • Work with tutee to develop a tutoring plan that fits the student’s individual needs
  • Offer assistance with developing study strategies
  • Make file notes and communicate with professor, academiccoaches and/or director about student progress per departmentpolicies
  • Operate computer and other resources to provide tutoring on-site or remotely
  • Be accessible to students who have come for assistance
  • Complete paperwork in a timely manner
  • Assist with the facilitation in the distance learningclassroom
  • Support students in the development of vital college successskills such as executive functioning and study skills
  • Serve as a case-manager/academic coach for high-supportstudents
  • Facilitating the virtual component of IVDL courses ordistance-learning courses in a physical classroom

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Artsearned by date of employment; significant tutoring and/or teachingexperience (education and experience may be gainedconcurrently).

Consideration may be given to candidates with experience workingwith a wide variety of students with academic risk factors; explainconcepts to others effectively; work comfortably with people fromdiverse backgrounds; possess good organizational skills; exhibitpatience and positive attitudes in establishing an encouraginglearning environment; and Miami University classroomexperience.
