Posting Summary

Rutgers seeks a Professional Research Manager for the Waksman Institute of Microbiology. The Rongo laboratory conducts research on nervous system function, aging, and hypoxic stress response using C. elegans. The individual will report to the Principal Investigator (PI) and conduct grant-funded research involving genetic analysis, biochemical experiments, microscopy, genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, contributing to publications and grant proposals.

• Salary: $36.00/hourly
• Position Status: Full Time
• Working Hours: 40 hours/week
• Work Arrangement: On-site at Rutgers University - New Brunswick, Piscataway, NJ

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in biology or related field (genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, etc.)
• At least three years of relevant research experience in academia, including mentoring and teaching

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with microscopy, gel electrophoresis, PCR, RNA isolation, protein purification, and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to stand, lift up to 25 pounds, reach, and grasp
• Work may involve exposure to chemicals and long periods of standing or sitting
