Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. in New York City offers a hybrid internship in underwriting, June 2, 2027 – August 6, 2027. You will review submissions, shadow calls, analyze loss runs, manage workflow, and support marketing outreach while presenting metrics.

An emerging professional with a related bachelor’s degree will gain practical experience in risk assessment, broker relations, and teamwork. The program is 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, with a $26/hour rate.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Economics, Business, Cybersecurity, CS or related.
• Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Junior or senior with graduation between Dec 2027 and May 2028.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Participate in underwriting by reviewing submissions, applications and client websites.

• Review pipeline activity and organize Imageright files to maintain workflow.
• Contribute to team marketing by engaging with brokers and outreach.

About This Internship

Arch’s internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. About This Role

• Run and analyze loss run reports to support risk assessment and account evaluation.

• Contribute to team marketing efforts by engaging with brokers and supporting outreach initiatives.
• Present data on submission and quote metrics to help track performance and identify trends.
• Collaborate with other interns to present on a business case.

Qualifications

• Actively completing a bachelors degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Economics, Business, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• College level – Junior or Senior student with graduation dates between December 2027 and May 2028.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
• Team player who collaborates effectively.
• Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Location & Work Arrangement

• The program dates are June 2, 2027 – August 6, 2027.
• This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 3 days onsite and 2 days from home.
• This position is located in NYC.
• Relocation and housing assistance is not provided for this role.

Pay

For individuals assigned to or hired to work in New York City, NY, the hourly rate is $26 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
