Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. is offering a summer internship in New York City. The hybrid program combines 3 days onsite with 2 days remote, beginning June 2, 2027 and ending August 6, 2027.

Interns will support underwriting across sectors such as manufacturing, real estate, healthcare, and education, while learning about market trends and data analysis. Ideal candidates are rising juniors or seniors with a 3.0+ GPA, pursuing Risk Management/Insurance or related fields, and possessing strong

• Actively completing area of study in Risk Management and Insurance, Engineering, or related program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
• College level - current Junior or Senior student, with graduation dates ranging from December 2027 - May 2028.
• Strong proficiency in understanding financial statements.
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
• Strong analytical skillset, with a keen ability to think through issues.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be a continuous learner.
• Team player who collaborates effectively.
• Self-starter who can work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in underwriting specialized sectors such as manufacturing, warehousing, public entities, healthcare, education, and real estate programs.
• Support the wholesale distribution network by evaluating accounts with earthquake, hurricane, tornado, hail, flood, and wildfire exposures.
• Manage incoming broker submissions and ensure data completeness and accuracy.
• Research and share new business opportunities through submission analysis and market trends.
• Review policy construction and support documentation for quotes and binders.
• Maintain organized records of broker interactions, quotes, and bound policies.

About This Role

Location & Work Arrangement

Pay

For individuals assigned to or hired to work in New York City, the hourly rate is $26 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
