Job summary

CyberCoders is recruiting a seasoned Professional Liability Partner for our Los Angeles practice. The role leads strategy, oversees complex defense matters from inception to trial, and nurtures relationships with insurers and corporate clients. You will mentor attorneys and drive cross-office business development.

Hybrid LA-based position offering substantial autonomy, a portable book is a plus. California Bar in good standing with 10+ years of PL defense experience is required.

• 10+ years of professional liability defense experience.
• Demonstrated litigation skills and experience managing complex, multi-phase matters.

Professional Liability Partner - Los Angeles

A nationally recognized law firm is expanding its Los Angeles practice and seeking a seasoned Professional Liability Partner to lead, shape, and grow a sophisticated defense practice - with the platform, resources, and autonomy to do it on your terms.

What you'll do:

• Lead the Professional Liability practice, setting strategy and driving sustainable growth across the Los Angeles market and firm-wide
• Manage complex defense matters from inception through resolution, including coverage analysis, depositions, motions, and trial
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with insurers, insured professionals, brokers, and corporate clients
• Mentor and supervise associates and support staff, building a high-performing team culture
• Drive business development and client expansion, including cross-selling across the firm's national practice groups
• Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic initiatives and cross-office opportunities
• Serve as a go-to advisor on sophisticated professional liability matters for clients and colleagues alike

What you need:

• Active California Bar membership in good standing
• 10+ years of professional liability defense experience
• Demonstrated litigation skills and experience managing complex, multi-phase matters
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and contribute to business development

Nice to have:

• Experience representing insurers and/or insured professionals (healthcare, legal, financial, or design professionals)
• Existing portable book of business (welcomed but not required)
• Prior experience mentoring junior attorneys in a law firm setting

Location & schedule:

Los Angeles, CA - Hybrid

Collaboration with attorneys across multiple national offices.
