Job summary

University of Houston seeks a Completion Coach for the Professional Leadership Ed.D. program. The role involves guiding 10-15 nominated students across two semesters, fall 2026 and spring 2027, with weekly coaching meetings and progress tracking.

The coach will develop benchmarks with students and advisors, provide monthly updates, and collaborate with the Executive Director to support degree progression. A terminal degree is required.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree required (EdD/PhD/AuD) or equivalent.
• Experience in academic advising or coaching is preferred.
• Ability to develop progress benchmarks with deadlines and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Meet with students weekly to coach progress toward degree.
• Provide monthly updates to students, advisors, and Director.
• Create and monitor individual progress plans using College of Education templates.
• Liaise with Director and administrators as requested.

Description

The proposed Completion Coach for the Professional LeadershipEd.D. will work with 10-15 students nominated by the ExecutiveDirector their faculty advisors for support each of the twosemesters, fall 2026 and spring 2027.

The Completion Coach will generate individual progress benchmarkswith both the student and the advisor to include both deadlines anddeliverables using the College of Education’s Action PlanTemplate.

The Completion Coach will provide individual monthly updates toeach student and their advisor and the Executive Director.

The Completion Coach will meet with individual students a minimumof once per week to provide coaching support as they work toprogress through their degree program. Additionally, the CompletionCoach will meet with students in small groups based on students’demonstrated areas of need.

The Completion Coach will liaise with the Executive Director andadministrators as requested.

Qualifications: Terminal degree - EdD, PhD or equivalent (AuD forexample).
