Job summary

The University of Houston invites applications for a Completion Coach in the Department of Ed Leadership & Policy Studies. You will work with 10-15 nominated students, providing weekly coaching and progress benchmarks to help them advance through their degree program.

You will generate benchmarks with students and advisors, deliver monthly updates to students, their advisors, and the Executive Director, and liaise with administrators as needed.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in EdD, PhD or equivalent.

Department:Ed Leadership & Policy Studies Salary:Commensurate with Experience/Education

Description:

• The proposed Completion Coach for the Professional Leadership Ed.D. will work with 10-15 students nominated by the Executive Director their faculty advisors for support each of the two semesters, fall 2026 and spring 2027.
• The Completion Coach will generate individual progress benchmarks with both the student and the advisor to include both deadlines and deliverables using the College of Education’s Action Plan Template.
• The Completion Coach will provide individual monthly updates to each student and their advisor and the Executive Director.
• The Completion Coach will meet with individual students a minimum of once per week to provide coaching support as they work to progress through their degree program. Additionally, the Completion Coach will meet with students in small groups based on students’ demonstrated areas of need.
• The Completion Coach will liaise with the Executive Director and administrators as requested.

Qualifications: Terminal degree - EdD, PhD or equivalent (AuD for example).
