Job summary

Ayres Associates in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our growing team. This role is primarily office-based, with occasional field support, and involves leading project deliverables and mentoring staff on a range of transportation, municipal, utility, and land development projects.

You will collaborate with project managers, crew chiefs, technicians, and fellow survey professionals, preparing and reviewing survey documents and ensuring quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Land Surveying or Civil Engineering Technology or a bachelor's degree in Land Surveying.
• 5+ years of land surveying experience across design surveys, LiDAR QA/QC, and construction layout.
• Wisconsin Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Experience using survey equipment, software, and CADD platforms to support project delivery and collaboration.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform surveying, mapping, and project-related tasks.
• Develop and review deliverables using survey software and CADD platforms.
• Collaborate with project managers, crew chiefs, technicians, and fellow survey professionals.
• Prepare and review survey documents and project deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Support safety initiatives and occasional field assignments.
